What to Do If Your Security Is Breached

In the digital world where cyber criminals never rest, security breaches are becoming an increasingly common occurrence. If it hasn’t happened to you or your company already, chances are good that at some point you will encounter a breach. When this does happen, the best remedy is to be prepared so that you can take the appropriate measures to fix the problem.

Most importantly, maintain a vigilant mindset in all your digital interactions. Be on the constant lookout for holes in your perimeter and identifying suspicious activity within your system. By identifying a breach the second it happens, it becomes much easier to correct.

On a similar note, if you do discover a breach, act immediately. Stay calm but quickly take the necessary steps to determine as much information about the breach as possible, such as who it affects, what data is at risk, etc. If you are unsure how to react, call our team of experts ICC and we’ll take care of everything for you.

Once the security breach has been resolved, don’t assume you are completely out of the woods. It is possible that a second wave of hacking is on the horizon. To prevent this from happening, change all passwords and keep a close watch on any unusual emails, messages, etc.

Contact ICC at 970-821-8592 if you have any questions on how to further prevent and handle a security breach. We’re here to help.
